Organizing

One of the problems of being a reader is your collection of books. My personal collection had gotten out of hand, to the point that my book corner was overflowing. My mom and I started organizing it.

The task of my book corner has been an overwhelming part of cleaning my room. When we finally started to tackle it, it wasn’t as bad as it looked. First, we dumped all of my books in one place. (I sure wish I had a picture of that. Sadly, at that point I didn’t know I would be writing a post about it.) After we got them all in one place, I had to sort them into Keep, Give Away, Workbooks, Mementos, and ?. Once they were all sorted, we started to put the Keep books back on the shelf. So far, we have organized my chapter books. Series goes first, organized by author. Next are the stand-alone books, also organized by author. I haven’t done any of my picture books yet. I’ll do those later.

I got all of my chapter books organized, and I’m going to donate a lot of books. Pretty good work for one day! Anyway, let me know below in the comments if you have a different way of organizing your bookshelves. Until next time!
