Wildwood

Hi! I’m back. I’ve been busy with schoolwork and Best Friends Essential (we now have a website!), so I haven’t had as much time to post on my blog. I’m going to be talking about Wildwood today, a great book by Colin Meloy and illustrated by Carson Ellis. It’s nice and long, with an interesting plot with twists and turns.

Prue is worried. Her baby brother, Mac, was just carried off by crows while she was watching him. Even worse, the crows carried him into the Impassable Wilderness (the I.W.). No one knows what’s in there. And no one who’s gone in has come back out. Prue decides to go in anyway. She just has to find her little brother. Her classmate, Curtis, also goes into the I.W. to help Prue. Once they get in, they see things that can’t be real. In the Woods, animals can talk. Not only talk – in the Woods, animals are equal to humans. When coyote soldiers capture Curtis, Prue must go through a series of adventures to find Mac and get back her friend.

I hope that you decide to read Wildwood based on the description above. Like I said, it’s a great book, and there are more too! The Wildwood Chronicles has three books. I’ve read two so far, and liked both immensely. I’m looking forward to reading the third.

Rainbow Magic Fairies

This is a quick series that I go to when I want something easy. There are a LOT of books in this series, which makes it good for getting out of the library.

Rachel Walker and Kirsty Tate have a secret. Ever since they went on vacation to Rainspell Island together, they have been helping the fairies get their stolen magic objects back from the evil Jack Frost and his goblins. The fairies find creative ways to thwart the evildoers in every book. The books range from Madeline the Cookie Fairy to Stacey the Soccer Fairy. If you want to find a Rainbow Magic Fairies about one of your interests, search “rainbow magic fairies” and then put your interest. It may not come up, but the chances are good that it will.

This series is written by 4 writers, Narinder Dhami, Sue Bentley, Linda Chapman, and Sue Mongredien, under the pseudonym of Daisy Meadows. Comment below if you have anything to say about this series, such as your experience with the books.

Preview Post: Keeper of the Lost Cities

Hi! This is a preview of the type of posts I will be writing. This is one of my favorite series. Hope you like it!

This was the first series I really got into after Harry Potter. I strongly recommend this to readers of any age looking for a good read. The main idea is similar to Harry Potter. Sophie Foster is a 12-year-old high school senior who feels like an outcast. This all changes when she meets Fitz and discovers she isn’t human. But even in the Elvin world of power and wealth, Sophie doesn’t quite fit in. She goes on many adventures with her friends that help her discover things aren’t always as they seem.

7 books are currently available. The series is written by Shannon Messenger, who has promised a book 8 published in the fall of 2019, as well as a book 9 in the fall of 2020. Whether there will be books 10 and beyond is uncertain.
